What We Learned in Sunday School Today… Today in Sunday School, the lesson recalls the wonderful account of Moses and the burning bush (Exodus 2:11–4:31). Just as God had Moses remove the sandals from his feet, God in Christ removes our sins from us, making us fit to approach God and stand in His presence. Talk with your child about who makes us holy before God. Ask him or her to tell you the story about Moses and the burning bush. What did Moses have to do, and why, in order to be in God’s presence? Review the Third Commandment and its meaning from the catechism.
The annual Reformation Celebration hosted by Lutheran Campus Ministries is at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 900 Maryvale at Union, Cheektowaga, 4 p.m. on October 28th. The speaker is the Reverend Kenyatta Cobb, pastor of Hananiah Lutheran Church in Buffalo. His topic will be “The Prophetic Role of Jesus’ Church in the Face of Need and Complacency.” We will also be featuring Lutheran congregations and Lutheran agencies that serve urban Buffalo. A video is in production and Voices of God choir from the Lutheran Church of Our Savior has been invited. After the service there will be displays and refreshments.
