Cottage Bible Study has begun! We meet Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Ruth Kumm. Come join us.

 Preparing for Faithful Stewardship

We will soon begin a rewarding and encouraging stewardship series called “Preparing for Faithful Stewardship” which will consist of sermons and Bible studies designed to help us reach deeper into God’s Word to discover all that He offers us both here on earth and in heaven. Join us in church and Bible study as we learn how to prepare to serve God and His people.

A Mission Trip to Camp Restore in New Orleans is being planned through St. Luke Lutheran Church in Buffalo for April 12-20, 2008. Contact Pr. Chris Wicher at pastor@stluke-buffalo.org, 716-633.6752. for volunteer forms which will be accepted until January. Cost is $125.00 per person for meals at Camp Restore. You are responsible for travel costs to and from New Orleans. We also need and request congregational support of prayers and donations. Contact Camp Restore website for information, opportunities and reservations at http://camprestore.org/.

Free Hymnals! We will be discarding the old red and blue hymnals soon. If you would like to keep a copy or two for your home, please free take as many as you want.  They are in boxes in the room next to the office.

Harvest Food Collection: A table is available in the narthex to receive donations of boxed and canned foods. We will deliver your donations to the Community Mission and the LaSalle Food Pantry after Thanksgiving. We will again accept donations of frozen TURKEYS which can be stored in the downstairs freezer. Let an usher know if you need help.

Our church offers an audio tape ministry. If you would like to receive a tape of Sunday’s service, please contact the church office and let us know and we’ll make sure you get one.

Be sure to check out the church’s new website. You can see a calendar of all the church happenings, read the sermon, request a prayer and read the announcements. Take a look! www.gracenf.org

Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Carolyn’s House is the special mission for the month of October.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… Today’s Sunday School lesson is one every young boy remembers vividly; the story of Moses and the plagues on Egypt (Exodus 5–10). Through a series of horrific plagues, God punished the Egyptians for their sinful treatment of His people and freed His people from bondage. Through His horrific suffering and death on the cross, Jesus took the punishment for our sin and freed us from sin’s bondage. Talk with your children about what it means to be freed from the slavery of sin. Ask them to tell you about the plagues and talk about the power of God Almighty.
