Preparing for Faithful Stewardship

What are you preparing your mind for—a test at school, a presentation at work, a phone call, a visit? Next week in church and Bible study, we will focus on Preparation of the Mind: The Importance of Preparation as it relates to our spiritual life. We will take a close look at Matthew 25:1-13. Come and prepare to grow in your understanding of stewardship as we move through this educational series.

Mark your calendar: Saturday, November 17th we will be doing a Community Service Day from 9a.m-2p.m. We meet at Grace and go to various sites including Community Mission and Niagara Habitat for Humanity. You will need to wear work clothes and bring a hat. We hope everyone will participate- youth, families etc. Call the church office for more information.

Thanksgiving Eve service will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m.

Advent Services will start on Wednesday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. We are looking for groups and/or individuals to host the “Simple Suppers” on December 5, 12 and 19 at 6:00 p.m.

Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Niagara Area Habitat for Humanity is the special mission for the month of November.

Free Hymnals! We will be discarding the old red and blue hymnals soon. If you would like to keep a copy or two for your home, please free take as many as you want.  They are in boxes in the room next to the office.

Harvest Food Collection: A table is available in the narthex to receive donations of boxed and canned foods. We will deliver your donations to the Community Mission and the LaSalle Food Pantry after Thanksgiving. We will again accept donations of frozen TURKEYS which can be stored in the downstairs freezer. Let an usher know if you need help.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… In Sunday School today, the children will learn the account of the Passover, Exodus 11–12. This true story, about the night when the angel of death passed over the homes of God’s people who had painted their doors with the blood of a lamb, foreshadows Christ, God’s Son, who became the Lamb whose blood was shed for us. Jesus is our Passover Lamb, and thus we will never die—we have the gift of eternal life. Ask your children who gives us the faith to believe that Jesus is our Savior?
