A Day of Service

Where? We’ll begin by meeting at Grace at 9:00 a.m. Then we will split up. Some people will go to:

  • the Thrivent Builds site for Habitat for Humanity in downtown Niagara Falls. They are nearly done with the home so we will be working inside. At the site, only those 16 or older may do actual work. Those under 16 can serve as gophers.
  • Five people will go to Community Mission in downtown Niagara Falls where they will do food prep, serve food, or bag food in the pantry.
  • If we have many youth under 16, we may have some people stick around church and rake leaves. Maybe we’ll even get creative and drive to the homes of some of our shut-ins and rake their leaves!

Who is invited? The youth and all people of the congregation. Youth who attend must be mature and prepared to work.

When? Saturday November 17. Meet at church at 9:00 a.m. Those who stay around church will be done at noon. Those who go to Habitat or to Community Mission should be done at 2:00 p.m. Lunch is included for the downtown sites.

What to bring? Please bring a rake if you are under 16. You also might appreciate some work gloves. Please wear work clothes (clothes that can get dirty). Those who serve food will need to bring either a baseball cap or a hair net.

This is our chance to be Jesus with skin on!

We want to reach out to our community and

show them the love that Jesus has shown us.
