Preparing for Faithful Stewardship

Here is an opportunity of a lifetime: God is looking for good managers of the blessings He has poured out on us. The purpose of the stewardship series, “Preparing for Faithful Stewardship,” is to train you for such an opportunity. Great eternal benefits! If you’re interested, attend church and Bible study December 2 as we focus on Preparation for Response: God’s Managers.

Pastor Gaertner will be out of town November 23-30. If you are in need of pastoral assistance, please call Pastor Blum at Immanuel Lutheran Church. His office number is 692-4219 or if after hours, cell number 946-2100.

The Confirmation Class is expected to attend the Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m. There will be a short class immediately following the worship service.

Advent Services will start on Wednesday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. We are looking for groups and/or individuals to host the “Simple Supper” on December 19 at 6:00 p.m.

Be sure to check out the church’s new website. You can see a calendar of all the church happenings, read the sermon, request a prayer and read the announcements. Take a look! www.gracenf.org

Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Niagara Area Habitat for Humanity is the special mission for the month of November.

The following people are currently address unknown: Patricia Bailor, Carol Bishara, Andrew Federspiel, Shana and Carly Miller, Gary Strange, and Debra Violanti. Please call the church office if you have any information on them.

Harvest Food Collection: A table is available in the narthex to receive donations of boxed and canned foods. We will deliver your donations to the Community Mission and the LaSalle Food Pantry after Thanksgiving. We will again accept donations of frozen TURKEYS which can be stored in the downstairs freezer. Let an usher know if you need help.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… Manna, water, and quail (Exodus 16–17) is the Sunday School lesson for today. Just as God provided manna, water, and quail for the hungry and complaining Israelites to preserve them, in Christ, God feeds us with the manna of His Word and the water of forgiveness, satisfying our eternal hunger and quenching our eternal thirst. Talk to your children about how sin causes us to be lost and hungry and thirsty for what we cannot have. Speak of Jesus, the bread of life and the living water, and how He satisfies our spiritual hunger and thirst. Review together the Fourth Petition of the Lord’s Prayer.
