Preparing for Faithful Stewardship

Preparation for Action: God Expects Results is the emphasis of the final study of our stewardship education series next Sunday as we continue “Preparation for Faithful Stewardship.” God expects results, and we’ll learn through John 15:1-5 how He enables us to achieve those results. It’s time for action! Join us next Sunday for church and Bible study. Next week is commitment Sunday, so please bring your commitment card.

This is the last day to order your Christmas poinsettia. Orders forms can be found on the book nook or contact Joyce Schultz at 297-3318.

Join us on Wednesday for a “Simple Supper” at 6:00 p.m. before the Advent Worship service at 7:00 p.m. This week’s supper is hosted by the Wednesday Craft Group.

Grace Ladies Annual Christmas party will be held on Tuesday, December 11 at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Justin Tyme, cost is 10.00 with entertainment and carol singing after dinner. Reservations are required, see the sign up sheet at the book nook.

A mitten tree is available in the narthex through Advent and Christmas to receive donations of mittens, gloves, hats, etc. All sizes are welcome. We especially need donations of children’s sized SWEAT PANTS and SHIRTS for our area schools. All of your donations will be distributed after Christmas within our own community. There are some cold winter months ahead, so let’s help keep our community warm!

Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Lutheran Association of Missionaries and  Pilots (LAMP) is the special mission for the month of December.

Happy Hearts Happy Homes, Ltd. is introducing Christian life coaching for mothers by sponsoring a holiday open house on December 6, 13 or 20 from 7 pm to 10 pm at 67 Walter Ave. in the City of Tonawanda. What we learned in Sunday School Today…Today’s Sunday School lesson is the foretelling of the birth of John the Baptist Luke (1:5–25). The children learned that God in His mercy promised to send John to prepare sinful people for the coming of the Lord. In His Word, God calls us (sinful people) to repentance, declaring us righteous because of His Son, Jesus. In your family discussions, ask the children to retell the story they learned. Talk about times when you have doubted God’s Word and how because of Jesus, God forgives our doubts, granting us faith to believe through the power of the Holy Spirit.
