Sharing God’s Grace: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Announcements for the week of December 23, 2007

December 21st, 2007 Posted in News

The Congregational Voters’ Meeting scheduled for last week, has been postponed until Sunday, December 30 after the worship service. Babysitting will be available.

Our Mitten Tree Collection will continue through the end of December.  All sizes of mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves are needed. We also need children-sized sweat pants and sweat shirts for our area schools. All donations will be distributed in early January within our own community. Let’s help keep our neighbors warm during the winter months ahead!

2008 Offering envelopes are now available in the narthex.

On Sunday, January 13 at 3:00 p.m., St. Peter Lutheran Church, Northridge will be having a special Farwell Service as Pastor Alex Knowles leaves to serve our country once again as an Army Chaplain in Afghanistan. You are invited to celebrate this ministry and honor all who are serving or have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. A finger food reception will follow in the fellowship hall.

We have a unique and urgent mission challenge that has been placed before us. An anonymous donor has come forward with a challenge grant for a new deaf ministry start at the National Institute of the Deaf in Rochester, NY. There is a deadline of December 31, 2007 to raise funds that will be matched dollar for dollar by this donor. If the mission grant challenge is matched, this new mission start can be funded for 3 years. Checks can be made payable to NTID Mission Fundraiser and sent to St. Mark Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 239, 18 Victor Mendon Rd., Mendon, NY 14506.
