Sharing God’s Grace: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Announcements for the week of March 30, 2008

March 28th, 2008 Posted in News

New acolyte class is scheduled for Saturday April 5 at 10:00 p.m.

Did you know that you can have your offerings automatically deducted from your account? It’s safe, easy and convenient. The program is called Joyful Response. Enrollment forms can be found in the chapel and the narthex, or see Jon Lehning for more information. This program makes it easier for you to be a regular, faithful steward of your gifts even when you may be sick, on vacation, or snowed under.

The Gleanings newsletter is no longer mailed. Please remember to pick up your copy in the chapel. There is a new issue out for March/April.

Ladies, mark your calendars. The Niagara Zone LWML Spring Gathering will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lockport, on Saturday, April 26.

Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Orphan Grain Train is the special mission for the month of March.

Lutheran Campus Ministries has a work scholarship for students at UB, Buff State, Niagara University or other WNY colleges for the 2008-09 academic year. For more information or to apply call the Lutheran Campus Ministries’ office at 833-6950 or email office@lcmwny.org.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… On the first Easter, Jesus reveals to Mary Magdalene and to His disciples that He is alive (John 20:1–18). In Sunday School today the children learned how Jesus comes to us in His Word, so that the Spirit can give us faith to believe in Christ’s resurrection and comfort us when we mourn the death of loved ones. Talk with your children about how Christ has reconciled us to God and thus gives us eternal life. Review the third article of the Apostles’ Creed and Luther’s Explanation to it as you talk about how the Holy Spirit works faith in our hearts.

The congregation is invited to a service of installation for The Reverend Allen K. Griep, Chaplain of Niagara Lutheran Health System on Wednesday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m.  Niagara Lutheran Home is  located at 64 Hager St. in Buffalo. Snacks and fellowship will follow the service.

St. Paul Lutheran Church and Lutheran Hour Ministries will present “Let Your Light Shine”…a worship service of joy and fellowship featuring Guest Preacher Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus, Speaker of “The Lutheran Hour”. The date for this special service is Monday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran, 453 Old Falls
