Sharing God’s Grace: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Announcements for the week of April 6, 2008

April 4th, 2008 Posted in News

Thank You to everyone who has supported our new nursery through donations of items and time. Eight children used the nursery Easter Sunday. A big thanks to Michele and Amanda Stenzel who staffed the nursery on Easter.

Thank you to Gary Krull who ran two tax assistance sessions last week.

Saturday, April 26 Youth and all families may participate in the Annual Beautify Niagara event. Meet at church at 9:00 a.m. and we will be done at 11:30 a.m. We will be cleaning up our community. The Niagara Beau-tification Commission will provide gloves and bags for us and will also assign us an area, hopefully in LaSalle. Ten youth will also receive a t-shirt. Parents and younger and older siblings are invited to attend, too. If you would like, you may attend a picnic for volunteers at the Hyde Park Oasis at 12:30 p.m., but we won’t be attending as a group.

Did you know that you can have your offerings automatically deducted from your account? It’s safe, easy and convenient. The program is called Joyful Response. Enrollment forms can be found in the chapel and the narthex, or see Jon Lehning for more information. This program makes it easier for you to be a regular, faithful steward of your gifts even when you may be sick or on vacation.

The Gleanings newsletter is no longer mailed. Please remember to pick up your copy in the chapel. There is a new issue out for March/April. Consider delivering some of the ones that have not been picked up yet.

Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Camp Pioneer is the special mission for the month of April.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… Today in Sunday School the children learned of how the disciples recognized the resurrected Jesus through the Scriptures and the breaking of bread when he appeared to them on the Emmaus Road (Luke 24:3–15). Talk with your children about how Christ comes to us and abides with us through Word and Sacrament, continuing to open our eyes and strengthening our faith.
