Sharing God’s Grace: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Announcements for the week of April 13, 2008

April 11th, 2008 Posted in News

Saturday, April 26 Youth and all families may participate in the Annual Beautify Niagara event. Meet at church at 9:00 a.m. and we will be done at 11:30 a.m. We will be cleaning up our community. The Niagara Beau-tification Commission will provide gloves and bags for us and will also assign us an area, hopefully in LaSalle. Ten youth will also receive a t-shirt. Parents and younger and older siblings are invited to attend, too. If you would like, you may attend a picnic for volunteers at the Hyde Park Oasis at 12:30 p.m., but we won’t be attending as a group.

MAY YOUTH EVENT

The Camp Pioneer Work Weekend is Friday evening May 16 through Sunday the 18th at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $35 for youth. Chaperones are free. This weekend is a time of work and fun. If youth and/or parents are interested, you need to RSVP to Christi by Sunday, May 4. A $20 deposit is also due then. You may use you fundraising money for the deposit and/or the entire cost.

Did you know that you can have your offerings automatically deducted from your account? It’s safe, easy and convenient. The program is called Joyful Response. Enrollment forms can be found in the chapel and the narthex, or see Jon Lehning for more information. This program makes it easier for you to be a regular, faithful steward of your gifts even when you may be sick or on vacation.

The Gleanings newsletter is no longer mailed. Please remember to pick up your copy in the chapel. There is a new issue out for March/April. Consider delivering some of the ones that have not been picked up yet.

Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Camp Pioneer is the special mission for the month of April.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today…The children in Sunday School learned how Jesus identified Himself as the “Good Shepherd” and the “Door of the Sheep”. They learned how we entered that door and were made His sheep through Baptism. Talk with your child about how Jesus continues to feed and care for us with His Word and Sacraments. Talk about how other voices, sinful voices, in this world try to draw us away from our shepherd, Jesus.
