Something new and great is coming soon. A time to talk about the basics of faith. For seekers and renewers.
On October 19, at 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., we begin another Christianity101 class in the lounge. I earnestly desire that each of us reach out and bring someone to this class.
Why? Well, the invitation of St. Paul to his people was: “Come, help change the world for Christ!” That’s my invitation to you. “Come, help change the world for Christ!”
- Jot down the names of the three people who either do not know the Lord or who do not have a church home.
- Briefly tell each of the these people what Jesus means to you in your own words. Share with them the nature and purpose of our Christianity 101 class. Remind them that it is an exciting study on the basics of Christianity right from the Bible. They will not be put on the spot in the class. There is nothing to lose, the class is free, and there is everything to gain in this world and in the world to come.
- Tell them, “I really want to personally bring you to the first session on October 19. I’ll pick you up and bring you home afterward. If you like the class, come back; if not-don’t.” Do not let your friends come on their own. The chances are great they will not make it.
This class helps people know what this church and pastor believe and teach. At the close of the class those who wish may become members of our church.
Even lifelong members of this congregation are welcome to attend this ten week study that covers all the basic teaching of the Christian faith. Please invite and bring as many as you can. Childcare can be arranged with advance notice. If you don’t invite your friend, family, or co-worker, who will?
