Announcements for the week of October 26, 2008
October 24th, 2008 Posted in NewsGrace Ladies will hold their first luncheon meeting this Tuesday at 12:00 noon. Pastor Gaertner will be the devotion speaker. Bring a bag lunch and join us!
Election Day is coming up. The ladies are having a bake sale with a chowder lunch served from 11-1. We are in need of donations of baked goods, especially pies.
The Youth are again offering fresh Christmas wreaths for sale. Wreaths are either $18 or $21 and will arrive the week of November 16. See a youth or Christi to make your order TODAY!
All youth that sold a Christmas wreath need to get their forms and any money collected into Christi by tomorrow, Monday, October 27.
Because of a lack of participation, the Grace 101 class scheduled for Sunday evenings will not be held.
Cottage Bible Study will start this Thursday, October 30 7:00 p.m. at the home of Ruth Kumm.
St. Paul Lutheran Church and Preschool is hosting two very special seminars this fall. Smart Discipline, Sunday, October 26 from 6-8:00 p.m. and Walk Through the Bible Seminar on Saturday, Nov.1 from 9a.m.-4p.m. For more information, contact St. Paul at 692-3255 or see our church bulletin board.
Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. The Joseph Fund is the special mission for October. Their purpose is to provide temporary financial help for our brothers and sisters (ordained and rostered pastors and called servants of the LCMS Niagara Circuits) in times of crisis.
Did you know that you can have your offerings automatically deducted from your account? It’s safe, easy and convenient. The program is called Joyful Response. Enrollment forms can be found in the chapel and the narthex, or see Jon Lehning for more information.
Don’t forget our Harvest Food Collection. There is a huge need in our community because of the economic crisis being faced by our country. The collection table is in the narthex and will continue until Thanksgiving.
What We Learned in Sunday School Today… Samson was the subject of this week’s Sunday School lesson. Students learned that Jesus repeats and completes Samson’s deeds of deliverance for us and for our salvation. When we are weak, He is strong! Consider asking, “What was the true source of Samson’s strength? Who is the source of our strength?”
Next weekend is the end of Daylight Saving Time. Don’t forget to turn your clocks back!
