ANNOUNCEMENTS
There will be a Congregational Voters Meeting next Sunday, December 14 at 11:30 a.m. after the worship service to approve the 2009 budget. Please plan on attending.

Midweek Advent Services began on Wednesday with a simple supper hosted by the Elders. Bring a dish to pass and join us for the Potluck Simple Supper this week at 6:00 p.m. followed by worship at 7:00 p.m. The theme this year is “Stirring Up Advent- Recipes for Relationships.

Our MITTEN TREE has been set up in the narthex to receive your donations of sweat pants and shirts, mittens, gloves, scarves, and hats. All sizes are needed. We will continue to collect these items through Christmas. After the holidays, they will be delivered to local schools and community service agencies to be distributed in our own community. Please remember this project as you do your Christmas shopping. Your help is needed to make this a success again this year.
Through your contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. The Esala Family, Nathan, Sarah, Karissa, Annaka and Aili serving with Lutheran Bible Translators in Ghana, West Africa, is our mission for the month of December. See www.lbt.org or esalas.org for more information about LBT and the Esala family.

Did you know that you can have your offerings deducted from your account? It’s safe, easy and convenient. The program is called Joyful Response. Enrollment forms can be found in the chapel and the narthex, or see Jon Lehning for more information.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… As we observe this Second Sunday in Advent, Sunday School students studied the story “An Angel Visits Mary.” In the womb of Mary, Jesus, the Son of God, became a man so that we sinful people might become adopted children of God and share in the inheritance of heaven. Parents might ask, “How does God make us His children? What do we inherit as God’s children?”

Everyone is invited to join the Elders and Youth as they go caroling to our shut ins on Sunday, December 21. We will start out with a luncheon at noon before heading out. Come join us, no matter what your singing voice is like, the more the merrier!

The flowers on the altar today are given to the Glory of God in honor of their anniversary, by Carl and Helene Reisig.
