March 27th, 2009 Posted in UncategorizedANNOUNCEMENTS
The Youth are hosting a Pampered Chef demonstration after the worship service today. Everyone is invited to attend. This is a great fundraiser. If you cannot attend, but would like to see a catalog or place an order, please see or call Cathy Hoffman 298-1174.
Thanks goes out to Alice Moll for sponsoring the “simple supper” this past week. Our final “simple supper” next week is hosted by Russ Hughes and the Sunday School staff. Come. Share with us! Worship with us at 7pm too!
The 9:00 a.m. Sunday Adult Bible class is discussing “Great Chapters in the Bible!” There is room for YOU! Come!
Please look for and read carefully the April Gleanings that should arrive in the mail soon.
The April-June Portals of Prayer devotion booklets are available in the tract rack in the chapel room.
If you know of a fellow member who is hospitalized, has changed their phone number or address… please phone the church office immediately. Thanks!
It is still appreciated when members and guests share their names with Pastor B at the door or whenever they meet ?
Grace Youth & Friends, including Adults: We are participating in the Annual Beautify Niagara, sponsored by the Niagara Beautification Commission. It is being held Saturday, April 25, beginning with breakfast at 8 am then clean up at 9 am. We will be cleaning in our church neighborhood as in the past. After clean-up we are invited to join in the picnic at Hyde Park at 12:30 p.m. If you are interested in joining, please see Pam Simcox to sign up, give your t-shirt size, and let her know if you are interested in breakfast and/or picnic. Also take an informational paper from the glass book case in the narthex.
Sunday School students are collecting change through Easter for the Penny War. Pennies earn them points, and they can put silver coins in other class banks to take away points. The winning class receives a reward and the total collected will be used for a mission project through Lutheran World Relief. Adults wishing to participate may do so by giving change to a Sunday School student, or placing change in containers available in the chapel and narthex.
What We Learned in Sunday School Today… The Sunday School lesson today focuses on “Jesus and Zacchaeus.” Like Zacchaeus, we are among the lost whom the Son of Man seeks and forgives. We are called to forgive those who sin against us, no matter how Zacchaeus-like they may be in their sins. Parents might ask, “How does Jesus seek you? How has God forgiven you?”
