Sharing God’s Grace: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Announcements for the week of April 12, 2009

April 10th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized

Pastor B will be out of town April 14-18 on LCEF business. If you are in need of Pastoral Assistance during that time, please contact the church office, 283-1843 or a church Elder.

Members are asked to inform the church office, pastor or an Elder whenever a family member is hospitalized. It helps us all care for each other!

As part of “Creating Our Future” members and friends of Grace Church are invited to take part in a “Prayer Summit” — a special time of quiet meditation & prayer — on Sunday April 26th,
2-4 pm. Suggested prayers will be available as we ask God’s guidance for the present & future. Come and pray for a short time or as long as you desire. Thank you!

As part of “Creating Our Future” there is a meeting scheduled for Monday, April 20 for the “Influencers” of Grace Lutheran Church. Those requested to attend will be notified.

Looking ahead as we continue “creating our future,” please plan to be with us on each of the Sundays from Easter onward, leading to our RE-COMMITMENT SUNDAY on May 10th. Our united efforts in Jesus’ name will be a blessing to many!

Congratulations to Ally Coleman for being the top seller last week for the Pampered Chef Party. She sold $446.00. Altogether 12 youth sold $2,619.40 in sales.

Grace Lutheran Church has received an invitation to attend the 90th birthday party of Pastor Herfurth, which is being held in Florida on Saturday, May 2. Please stop by the glass bookcase in the Chapel to sign his birthday card from the members of Grace.

Grace Youth & Friends, including Adults: We are participating in the Annual Beautify Niagara, sponsored by the Niagara Beautification Commission. It is being held Saturday, April 25, beginning with breakfast at 8 am then clean up at 9 am. We will be cleaning in our church neighborhood as in the past. After clean-up we are invited to join in the picnic at Hyde Park at 12:30 p.m. If you are interested in joining, please see Pam Simcox to sign up, give your t-shirt size, and let her know if you are interested in breakfast and/or picnic. Also take an informational paper from the glass book case in the narthex.
The 9:00 a.m. Sunday Adult Bible class is discussing “Great Chapters in the Bible!” There is room for YOU! Come!

Have your read the April newsletter? Please do!

The Wednesday morning Bible class, 9:30-10:30, will begin a special 6 week series, April 15 – May 20, led by Pastor Erv Brese. Come! Bring a friend!

Pastor Brese’s book, “When Story Becomes Life” is available for sale in the book nook.

George Mills would like to thank all those for their prayers, cards and well wishes during his recent recovery.

Many MAIL BOXES in the assembly room are full. Please check the names and take the mail and offering envelope boxes to anyone whose name you know. Thanks! Please help us all help them. Today!

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… “Jesus Dies and Lives Again” serves as the lesson focus for Sunday School this Easter Sunday. Good Friday is both the worst of days, revealing the gravity of our sin and God’s wrath, and the best of days, forever portraying God’s love for us in the crucifixion and resurrection of His Son. Parents could ask, “What makes Good Friday so good? Why is Easter so important for a Christian?”
