Grace will hold VBS July 20-24, from 5:30- 8:00 p.m. The theme this year is Gadget’s Garage. Many volunteers will be needed to make this another successful year. If you would like to help out in any way, please see Randy Broeker.
Please plan to be with us each Sunday in the coming weeks as we continue “Creating our Future,” leading to our RE-COMMITMENT SUNDAY on May 10th. Our united efforts in Jesus’ name will be a blessing to many!

Penny War News: The total collected by this year’s Penny War was $583.80, to be sent to Lutheran World Relief. The class with the winning number of points was 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The class raising the most money was High School. The Sunday School is celebrating today wit snacks and prizes. Great job everyone!

Partners in Ministry Celebration will be held on Tuesday, May 12 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cheektowaga. This is an opportunity for Congregations in the Buffalo Region to gather for an evening to hear about several innovative and unique mission ministries right in our backyard. We are people set on a mission by our Lord to share and proclaim His name starting at home. You will hear about Hananiah, LaSanta Cruz, and Lutheran Campus Ministry. Also, community outreach programs will be highlighted by several of our congregations. Each congregation is asked to bring a car load of people to participate in this event. Cost is $5 per person, dinner will be catered and registration is due by April 30. Please contact the church office for more information, or to RSVP.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will host an educational Market Update Event on Monday, May 18 at Suzanne’s, 2843 Niagara Falls Blvd. in Wheatfield. Guest speaker will be Charles Etzweler. Chuck brings to the table a wealth of experience for those affected by our current market climate and who want advice and direction for the future. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments begin at 6:30 followed by the presentation. There is no cost, but seating is limited. Call Les Fuerch at 731-4281 by May 11 to reserve your place.

Thank You for signing the 90th birthday card for Pastor Herfurth. It is still in the Chapel this morning and will be given to him at his birthday party this coming Saturday in Florida.

Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Camp Pioneer is the special mission for the month of April.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… In Sunday School today, students learn the story of “Paul’s First Missionary Journey.” Just as God sent Paul and Barnabas to spread the Gospel, so today He sends pastors to preach the Gospel, baptize, and feed Jesus’ body and blood to His children, against whom the gates of hell cannot prevail. Consider discussing, “Who gave Paul directions on where to travel? What was Paul’s message?”
