Today, on Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the Rite of Confirmation with two our young men who have been involved in our Christian Education & Affirmation of Holy Baptism process: Jacob C. Dixon and Zachary M. Tilton. We also welcome to our Lord’s Supper, for his First Communion and start of the Confirmation process, Michael L. Lehning. God bless each of you and your continuing discipleship with Jesus and His Church!

There will be a VBS Volunteer Meeting next Sunday at 11:45 after the worship service. If you would like to volunteer for VBS, but are unable to attend the meeting please see Randy Broeker. Many volunteers will be needed to make this years VBS another success. Hope to see you there. Look for the VBS Giving Tree for donations coming soon!

Pioneer Camp and Retreat Center at Angola, NY is in URGENT NEED OF A NURSE, volunteer for the days of June 8-12 and June 15-19. Meals, housing, etc is provided. Phone the camp at 716-549-1420 if you, or a nurse you know can help meet this urgent need. Thank you!

Please read and share with other the June issue of our church newsletter, Gleanings, which was mailed last week.

The Installation service for our new pastor, Rev. Matthew Sorenson, is set for 7:00 pm on Sunday June 21. Please invite friends of Grace and plan to be with us!

On your way home today, can you deliver the mail & offering boxes still in the “family mailboxes”, in the chapel room, to a friend whose name you recognize? It would be a big help to us all! Thank you!

On Sunday June 14, members of the Summer Staff of Pioneer Camp & Retreat Center, on Lake Erie at Angola, NY, will be with us in worship… and at the Sunday School hour too! Plan to be here!

Rev. Erv Brese will teach the 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning Bible Class on June 3rd. Thank you!

Through the LCEF Joyful Repsonse program our church can receive electronic payments directly from personal bank accounts or LCEF Steward Accounts. It is simple, safe, convenient, and stewardship-minded. Interested? Talk to Jon Lehning.

What We Learned in Sunday School Today… On this last Sunday of the spring quarter of Sunday School, students study “John’s Vision of Heaven.” Those who believe that salvation has been accomplished by the all-availing sacrifice of Jesus’ blood on the cross will bear the name of Christ, written on their forehead in Holy Baptism, and will have the right to the tree of life. Consider discussing, “How does John describe heaven? How is the promise of eternal life in heaven ours?”
