June 12th, 2009 Posted in UncategorizedToday we welcome Leah Eicher & members of the Summer Staff of Pioneer Camp & Retreat Center, our Eastern District LCMS Camp ministry for families, youth, adults & children at Angola, NY! Thank you for coming to share with us! May our Savior bless your ministry among us and all the retreaters!
The Installation Service for our new pastor, Rev. Matthew Sorenson, will take place next Sunday, June 21, at 7:00p.m. Please invite friends of Grace and plan to be with us! A reception will follow the service of celebration!
The Giving Tree for Vacation Bible School donations is up in the chapel. Simply take the ornament off the tree that you would like to be responsible for donating. VBS will be held the week of July 20-24, 5:30-8:00 p.m. Spread the word! Plan to participate!
Summerfest July 12, 2009, is a special time at Pioneer Camp & Retreat Center, 9324 Lake Shore Road, Angola, NY … about 75 minutes from Grace! Take the family, friends & neighbors to enjoy the “festival day” of music, worship (10:30 at the chapel in the woods), Bar-B-Que (11:30 – 3:30), games, swimming & loads of fun! Phone (716) 549-1420 for more info… or speak to Pastor B or others who have been blessed by the Camp ministry of our Lutheran Church! Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 4-12. It’s a great investment!
Sunday School for the children will recess from today until Rally Day September 13.
Vacation Bible School will be held July 20-24, 5:30-8:00 p.m. Spread the word! Plan to participate!
Next Sunday, June 21, will be the last “official day” for Pastor B to be with us.
Items for the June GLEANINGS may be given to Bev Mills, or the church office, anytime in the coming 10 days. Thank you.
There will be a “Drop Your Drawers Here” box available in the narthex throughout the summer for donations of socks and all types and all sizes of undergarments because they need that money to buy food and pay utility bills. We will continue our collection throughout the summer months. All items will be distributed to those in need in September. (Because of health laws, only new items can be accepted for donation.)
On your way home today, can you deliver the mail & offering boxes still in the “family mailboxes”, in the chapel room, to a friend whose name you recognize? It would be a big help to us all! Thank you!
One of our home-bound members, Mrs Marie Camann, is now living at Our Lady of Peace, Room # 313, 5285 Lewiston Rd, Lewiston, NY 14092.
Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Vacation Bible School is the special mission for the month of June.
