Announcements for the week of June 28, 2009
June 26th, 2009 Posted in UncategorizedThere is a sign up sheet in the upstairs kitchen for bakers and/or servers for Coffee Fellowship throughout the summer. We receive matching funds from the coffee hour for our VBS.
Bible Classes on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 and Sunday mornings at 9:00 WILL continue this summer with Pastor Sorenson. He invites all to participate!
If you know anyone interested in joining our congregation or just learning more about our Christian faith please have them contact Pastor. He will be starting a new member class in the near future.
The Giving Tree for Vacation Bible School donations is up in the chapel. Simply take the ornament off the tree that you would like to be responsible for donating. VBS will be held the week of July 20-24, 5:30-8:00 p.m.
Saturday. July 11, is VBS Rally Day. We will meet at church at 10:00 a.m. and work at building support for this year’s Gadget Garage VBS. Bring a friend and have some fun!
VBS is collecting plastic (16oz. 1lb.) strawberry boxes for a craft project. There is a sample by Uncle Gadget in the chapel.
Our food pantry is VERY low on supplies. Especially needed is peanut butter, tuna, Chunky soups, and canned pasta (like ravioli). If you can help, please leave your donations on the book nook in the chapel, or in the narthex. Thank you.
Bill and Connie Winter are in need of a ride between their bus stop and church on Sundays from now until Labor Day. They are developmentally disabled and dependent on public transportation and our help. They need to be picked up at 9:25 a.m. at their bus stop in Mil-Pine Plaza, and taken back to the bus stop after church. There is a sign-up sheet on the book nook if you can help. Questions? – see Ross Folmsbee (731-6497)
Thanks Dr. Belasic and Welcome Pastor Sorenson. A DVD of pictures taken at both services on June 21 will be shown in the chapel during the coffee fellowships the month of July. Pictures can also be printed. See Ron or Jane Schulz if you would like any copies.
There is a “Drop Your Drawers Here” box in the narthex for donations of socks and all types and all sizes of undergarments because they need that money to buy food and pay utility bills. All items will be distributed to those in need in September. (Because of health laws, only new items can be accepted for donation.)
Through you contributions to the mission fund at Grace, we reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and international. Vacation Bible School is the special mission for the month of June.
