July 2nd, 2009 Posted in UncategorizedA Congregational Voters’ Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, July 19 following the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service. We are looking to fill several positions including, Elders, Trustees, Financial and Recording Secretary. There will be a job description of open positions in next week’s bulletin. Please consider using your talents and running for one of these open positions.
There is a sign up sheet in the upstairs kitchen for bakers and/or servers for Coffee Fellowship throughout the summer.
Bible Classes on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 and Sunday mornings at 9:00 WILL continue this summer with Pastor Sorenson. He invites all to participate!
This Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. is the first planning meeting for an Oktoberfest to be held this fall. If you are interested, but cannot attend the meeting please contact Dorothy Kew 297-1984.
If you know anyone interested in joining our congregation or just learning more about our Christian faith please have them contact pastor. He will be starting a new member class in the near future.
The Giving Tree for Vacation Bible School donations is up in the chapel. Simply take the ornament off the tree that you would like to be responsible for donating. VBS will be held the week of July 20-24, 5:30-8:00 p.m.
This Sat. July 11, we will meet at church at 10:00 a.m. for VBS Rally to work at building support for this year’s Gadget Garage VBS. Bring a friend and have some fun!
VBS is collecting plastic (16oz. 1lb.) strawberry boxes for a craft project. There is a sample by Uncle Gadget in the chapel.
We still need volunteers to give Bill and Connie Winter a ride after church to their bus stop at McDonald’s parking lot each Sunday through Labor Day. If you can give them a ride after the coffee hour, there is a sign up sheet on the book nook. Thank you to those who have already volunteered!
Our food pantry is VERY low on supplies, and we have families requesting aid. Donations of any type of non-perishable food items will be appreciated. We especially are in need of peanut butter, tuna, chunky soup, cereals, and canned meals (like ravioli). If you can help, leave your donations on the book nook in the chapel, or hand them to an usher. Thank you.
Our collection of socks and undergarments will continue through the summer. These items are distributed by local school nurses and the Community Mission after Labor Day. Donations can be left in the “Drop Your Drawers Here” box in the narthex. New items only, please (because of health laws).
All Ladies of Grace are invited to the Grace Ladies annual picnic at the home of Dorothy Kew 702 Upper Mt. Rd. in Lewiston on Tuesday, July 14 at 6:00 p.m. Bring a dish to pass -hotdogs, dessert and beverage will be furnished. If you are interested in pirate bingo, bring a $1.00 gift.
