Sharing God’s Grace: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Announcements for the week of January 10, 2010

January 8th, 2010 Posted in Uncategorized

The Prayer Group will meet in the lounge after the Worship Service today. The topic will be “Unanswered Prayers”.

There will be a blood pressure clinic after church today. Come get your blood pressure checked for free.

Attn Youth: We are going sledding this Saturday, January 16 at Reservoir Park, followed by refreshments at the Sorensons. Meet at the church at 2:00 p.m. No need to RSVP, just come!

The Youth are selling discounts cards for area businesses. The cards are only $10 and can be used thru January 2011. There are 23 area businesses that can be used over and over again, so the card literally pays for itself! Cards are available before and after worship. See a youth or Pastor.

Through LCEF Joyful Response program our church can receive electronic payments directly from personal bank accounts or LCEF Steward Accountants. It’s simple, safe, convenient, and makes it easy to be a faithful servant when you are sick or the weather is bad. Interested? Talk to Jon Lehning.

The flower chart for 2010 is up in the narthex. If you would like to purchase flowers for the altar, simply write your name on the line corresponding to that Sunday. A centerpiece is $33.00 and two vases are $45.00, which can be shared with if you would like.

The LaSalle LADD Thrift Shop wishes to thank Grace Lutheran Church for all their support through the years. In appreciation, and because it meets the purpose of serving the needs of the Mentally Handicapped, the shop has donated $500 to assist the Winters with their transportation expenses during the New Year.

Through your contributions in your monthly mission envelopes, we are able to reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and internationally. Our special mission for January is Hanahiah Church, a Lutheran mission church in Buffalo with 30 members. Hanahiah is located in a very needy area of the city. They are often involved in helping the victims of violence and homelessness that we see on the news each night. Your January mission envelope will help the congregation and pastor of Hanahiah to reach out to those in need.
