February 12th, 2010 Posted in UncategorizedThere will be a Congregational Voters’ Meeting following the worship service next Sunday, February 21. We will vote on lighting for the sanctuary and also nominate synodical officers. Please plan on attending.
Lent starts with Ash Wednesday, on February 17. We will offer Communion Worship at 12:00 and also at 7:00 p.m. Simple Suppers will begin the following the week February 24 at 6:00 pm before the 7:00 pm Worship Service. We are looking for groups and/or individuals to host the suppers. If you would like to help out, please contact the church office at 283-1843.
Lenten Devotionals from LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots) are available on the glass case in the chapel.
The Youth are selling discounts cards for area businesses. The cards are only $10 and can be used thru January 2011. There are 23 area businesses that can be used over and over again, so the card literally pays for itself! Cards are available before and after worship.
The order for nametags will go in at the end of the month. If you would like to order a nametag, please see the sign up see on the glass case in the chapel area.
Niagara Zone LWML Spring Gathering is scheduled for April 24. This year’s theme is “Gifts from the Heart” for Lutheran World Relief. Each LWML Society in the Niagara Zone is encouraged to provide at least one complete Health Kit –individual church members are also encouraged to provide completed kits or donate new bars of wrapped bath soap (4-5 oz. size). There is a drop off box in the chapel with a list of things needed to complete a health kit.
This Friday, Feb. 19 is the deadline for the March Gleanings. Please let us know if you have any info you would like included.
Through your contributions in your monthly mission envelopes, we are able to reach out and support different missions locally, nationally, and internationally. Our mission envelopes for February will be donated to La Santa Cruz Mission church in Buffalo. Like our January mission church Hanahiah, La Santa Cruz is located in an inner city area of Buffalo and is involved daily in meeting the needs of a struggling neighborhood. Your donations will help their members reach out to those in need with the good news of our Savior.
