On May 2 at 2:30, Trinity Lutheran Church (2027 Niagara Stone Road) Niagara-on-the-Lake will be hosting a seminar entitled, “Christ or Caricature?”. At a time when the broadcast media, books like The Da Vinci Code, and our newsmagazines offer caricatures of Christ, his genuine portrait becomes even clearer when history and archaeology provide fascinating additional details to the biblical record. The presenter is Dr. Paul L. Maier, professor of Ancient History at Western Michigan University and widely-read author. The seminar will be followed by a BBQ dinner catered by Pig Out Spit Roasters. The cost for the seminar and dinner is only $10. Reservation forms are available in the chapel.
Through contributions in your monthly mission envelopes, we are able to reach out and support different missions on a local, national, and international level. Our mission envelopes for April will be donated to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod’s “Life Ministries”. This is a ministry actively involved in promoting the sanctity of human life through the funding of crisis pregnancy centers, providing education to promote teen abstinence, and working with other Christian pro-life groups to encourage life “in the image of God”. If your prayers move you to support “Life Ministries”, please place your mission envelope for April in the offering on any Sunday during the month.
