Sharing God’s Grace: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Annoucnements for the week of May 30, 2010

New Small Group Bible Study – Looking for another opportunity to better understand what God is doing in your life? An opportunity to get to know other members better? Or just an opportunity to relax in a Christian environment? Please consider joining us for a new small group Bible study called Breadbreakers. Our next meeting is this Saturday June 5th at 5 PM at the Sorenson’s house. For more information please consult your copy of Gleanings, or call the church office.
Plan to join us for our Annual Congregational Picnic, Sunday, June 13 following the worship service. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided, there is a sign up sheet in the chapel for salads and desserts. This will be the last day of Sunday School for the summer. Worship time will remain at 10:30 a.m. throughout the summer.
Our special mission envelopes for May and June are designated for Papyrus Camp at Camp Pioneer. This is a special camp reserved for foster and inner city children. It is the opportunity of a life time for these special children, and may be the only opportunity they have to learn that Jesus loves them. It costs $390 to send one child to this camp for a week. If your prayers move you to help with this project, please place your mission envelope, or an envelope marked “Papyrus Camp”, in the offering plate. You can watch our progress on the bulletin board in the narthex.

TOILETRIES AND STUFFED CHARACTERS: We will continue to collect toiletry items and stuffed characters on the table in the narthex through the month of June. These items are needed by both Carolyn’s House and the Community Mission. Carolyn’s House provides housing and career training for homeless women and their children in Niagara Falls. Many of these individuals are escaping domestic violence situations and have no where else to go. Community Mission has recently experienced an increase in the homeless seeking their help. Your donations will help make this project a success!
SOCIAL MINISTRIES MEETING: There will be a meeting of the social ministries committee this week on Wednesday, June 2, at 6:30 p.m. It will be the last meeting until September, so your attendance will be greatly appreciated to help us with planning for the next few months.
Vacation Bible School will be held August 2-6. We’ll start with a simple supper at 5:30 p.m. and the VBS program from 6-8. There is a planning meeting scheduled after the worship service today. If you would like to help, but are unable to attend the meeting, please contact the church office or Randy Broeker.

More BOTTLES AND CANS please. Thanks so much for bringing to our recycle bins at parking lot door and narthex. The last two weeks of May and the month of June our recycle profits will go to Kaitlyn Sorenson who will be attending the National Youth Gathering this July with youth from Holy Ghost, Bergholz and Trinity Lockport.
