Annoucements for the week of September 4, 2011

Next Sunday is Rally Day! Sunday School will start at 9:00 a.m., with Communion Worship at 10:30 a.m. followed by our Annual Congregational Picnic. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided; there is a sign up sheet on the glass case in the chapel for salads and desserts.

Check the booknook in the chapel for a sample collage and more information on the pictorial directory as found in the September Gleanings.
The Social Ministries meeting scheduled for this week has been postponed until next week, September 14 at 6:00 p.m. Be sure to check “This Week at Grace” as fall activities are resuming. This Wednesday, Choir will resume practices at 7:00 p.m.

A Creation Resource! The ministry of Answers in Genesis has equipped thousands to stand firmly on the Word of God rather than on the ideas of sinful, fallen men. Please join with your fellow Lutherans on September 17, 2011 at the Conference Center – Niagara Falls as Ken Ham (CEO/Founder of Answers in Genesis) and Dr. David Menton supply the necessary tools “to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” 1 Peter 3:15b. Volunteers are needed the day of the event. See Mark Binkley for tickets or more information.

Our special mission envelopes for August and September have been designated for tuition assistance for Holy Ghost and St. John Lutheran Schools. With annual tuition costs being over $2500 per student, we have set a goal of donating at least $400 to each school. Christian education is an important option for today’s families. Since we do not have our own school at Grace, we want to give support to the two schools closest to us. We have members and teachers at these schools, both of which have consistently received high ratings from Business First, with St. John being rated the top elementary school in Niagara County for the past several years. Thank you for your generosity
