Announcements for the week of September 25, 2011

Thank you to all who attended and helped out at the Let There Be Light Conference. Hopefully some of your questions of faith were answered and you’re now better equipped to answer questions others may ask you. Brochures are available in the chapel and in the narthex or check out their website for a wealth of information. While you’re there, you can check out Ken Ham’s blog under the Conference heading to see his comments and a few photos. T-shirts may still be available for $10 each. Additional financial support would still be GREATLY appreciated. Any questions, please contact Mark Binkley.
Grace Ladies are having their annual Flea Market and Bake Sale on Saturday, October 8. With your help, this is our most successful fundraiser of the year. Donations for the flea market can be brought to church starting the week of October 3.

There will be a Sunday School Staff meeting next Sunday, Oct. 2 right after worship. The main topic will be this year’s Sunday School Christmas program.

Grace will be hosting a Flu Shot Clinic with Rite Aid on Thursday, October 6. Come get your shot and be prepared for the upcoming season.

The next Creating Our Future Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m. Please join us even if you haven’t attended a meeting before. It is important to get as much feedback as possible for our future here at Grace Lutheran Church.

Sunday morning bible study is started a new topic “Resolving Everyday Conflict.” This is an eight week DVD study that unpacks the amazing things the Bible has to say about conflict and relationships. Come join us and with God’s help, Resolving Everyday Conflict will forever change how conflict looks in your life.

Attn Youth: Camp Pioneer is having a Jr. & Sr. High School Retreat October 21-23. The theme is Deep and Wide and promises to be a weekend of laughter and study, food and songs, praising God and playing great games. Cost is only $75 if you register before October 1. You can use your fundraising funds account for this. If you’re interested in attending, please see Pastor or Mrs. Sorenson.

Our special mission envelopes for August and September have been designated for tuition assistance for Holy Ghost and St. John Lutheran Schools. With annual tuition costs being over $2500 per student, we have set a goal of donating at least $400 to each school. Christian education is an important option for today’s families. Since we do not have our own school at Grace, we want to give support to the two schools closest to us. We have members and teachers at these schools, both of which have consistently received high ratings from Business First, with St. John being rated the top elementary school in Niagara County for the past several years. Thank you for your generosity.

Pictorial Directory- Pictures are being taken and activity pages are being put together. Deadline for pictures is Sun. Oct. 2. We are looking for military pictures and “In Loving Memory” pictures. Any questions, contact Jane Schulz.

Tom and Erika Tuscher would like to thank all those who sent cards and well wishes during his recent illness.
