Announcements for the week of November 6, 2011

There will be a Congregational Voters’ Meeting on Sunday, November 27. The Budget will be discussed and we will elect a Congregational Lay Delegate to represent us at the District Convention in Buffalo on June 15-16, 2012. The newly elected lay delegates will meet briefly on Tuesday, Nov, 29. This year only delegates to the District Convention are eligible to attend the National Convention. Please use the weeks leading up to the meeting to prayerfully consider nominations for this position. See Pastor if you would like more info.

Grace Ladies are having a Fall Bazaar and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 19 from 10-3. A chowder lunch will be served from 11-1.

CAN YOU HELP? We need to use some of our old white confirmation gowns as angel costumes for the Sunday School Christmas program this year (our angels are growing!). If you can take one or two of them home this week and wash and iron them, please see Laura Lehning or Amy Folmsbee in the chapel after the service. Thank you!

Youth Group Movie Night November 19th at 6:30 PM there will be an opportunity to check out the movie To Save a Life with other young people from the Buffalo area. They will be meeting at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Tonawanda to watch the movie and share some food. If you would like a ride please speak to pastor.
FOOD COLLECTION: Our annual Harvest Food Collection will continue until Thanksgiving. We are collecting all non-perishable canned or boxed food items. We also need donations of frozen turkeys. Food can be left on the table in the narthex or on the book nook. (Turkeys left on the table will be moved to our downstairs freezer.) Your donations will be used to restock our pantry. Extras will be donated to Niagara Falls food pantries after Thanksgiving to help them restock for the Christmas season. Your generosity is appreciated by the agencies serving hundreds in Niagara Falls who need our assistance to feed their families. If you know of someone needing assistance, please speak to Pastor Sorenson. All information is kept confidential.

The next Creating Our Future meeting is Thursday, November 17. Everyone is encouraged to attend and share your ideas and hopes for the future of Grace.

DISASTER RELIEF is still needed after flooding and earthquakes have caused damage to many areas of the northeastern United States–Our LCMS Eastern District disaster relief budget has been called on to help this nearby region. They have provided help to several congregations affected by the recent earthquake and hurricane flooding that occurred in New York, Pennsylvania, and New England. We have designated our Special Mission envelopes for October and November to help our neighbors recover from the damage they experienced.
