Announcements for the week of February 26, 2012

Midweek Lenten Worship starts this week February 29, with Simple Supper at 6:00 pm followed by Lenten Worship at 7:00 p.m.

Lenten Devotionals are available on the glass case in the chapel.

Our annual Penny War begins today and will run through Palm Sunday. This year we are raising money to buy “rice ducks” for poor Philippine farmers. These are ducks that increase crop yields by eating bugs and weeds and fertilizing the crops. Their eggs can be used for food or to sell at market. These feathered gifts cost $45 each and we have set a goal of buying 15 ducks. If you want to donate change to this project, give it to a Sunday School student or place it in the jar on the book nook. Our total will be announced on Easter Sunday.

Special Mission envelopes for January and February are designated to help Heart, Love and Soul Food Pantry of Niagara Falls. This mission runs both a soup kitchen and food pantry. The need during the winter months is especially great, and your donations will help feed our neighbors in need.
