Church Picnic- Please join us after worship today for our Annual Congregational Church Picnic.
Thank You- We would like to thank everyone for their help in making this the most successful Spring Fest to date. Especially Dorothy Snider, who was a tremendous help with food and baskets. We raised $1423.00 from food, $1265.00 from baskets, $212 from beer and $105.00 from handmade scarves donated by Janette Lemley. For a grand total of $3005.00!
VBS Wish Tree- There are many items that will be needed to make our VBS successful again this year. We have a “wish tree” set up in the chapel where teachers will be hanging requests for items they need. More items will be added to the tree as we continue our planning. If you are interested in helping with this special ministry, please take a request off the tree, purchase the item, and return it to the tree table by the date needed.
Sky VBS- registration forms are available on the book nook in the chapel. Register early! Space is limited and you won’t want to miss the fun!
Heart, Love, & Soul Pantry- During May & June, we will be collecting donations of toilet paper for Heart, Love, & Soul Pantry in Niagara Falls. Beside food, this is their most requested item. It is something that is needed everyday, and the cost adds up for those who are struggling to bay their bills and provide the necessities
of life for their families. We have tables set up in the chapel and narthex, and your donations will be delivered to Heart & Soul in July. Thank you for your help with this project!
Special Mission Envelopes– May and June have been designated for Habitat for Humanity’s Tornado Disaster Response. There have been over 330 confirmed tornadoes in the U.S. so far this year, causing much destruction and many deaths. Habitat for Humanity is helping to repair and rebuild in the hardest hit areas. Lutheran World Relief calls Habitat their “trusted partner” and encourages our support of their efforts. Social Ministries has voted to match donations up to $400 so that we can send a significant donation to help our neighbors in the Midwest and Southeastern United States.
Foundation for Hope- a new class to begin this Wednesday, June 13. This group is a great way to learn more about the faith which you were confirmed or to learn about the faith which conquers anything the world can throw at us. This is the group we recommend to any adult interested in joining our church for the first time.
Eastern District Scholarship Fund Thank you to all who participated in last Sunday’s offering for the Eastern District Scholarship Fund. If you have not yet given your gift, it is not too late. Please place your gift in an envelope marked “Eastern District Scholarship Fund” in the offering plate today or by leaving it at the Church Office. Please make checks payable to our church and write “Eastern District Scholarship” in the notation.
