Announcements for the week of August 26, 2012

Sunday School Staff -There will be a brief Sunday School Staff Meeting after the Worship Service today.

Rally Day Picnic -There is a sign up sheet on the book nook for our Annual Rally Day Picnic September 9 after the worship service.

Food Pantry – Our food pantry at Grace is running low on tuna, canned pasta (like “Spaghetti-O’s”), and chunky style soups.  We will begin our annual food collection in October, but if you can help out with a small donation of one of these items in the meantime, it would be appreciated by those who come to us in need.  Donations can be left in the chapel or in the food pantry.  Thank you for your generosity.

Summer Social Ministries Projects – Two weeks left:  Our summer Social Ministries projects have been to collect underwear, socks, and school supplies for our Niagara Falls school children in need.  We will continue to accept donations through Rally Day on September 9.  After that, all school supplies and school aged underwear and socks will be delivered to Harry Abate School in Niagara Falls, a school with many disadvantaged families who cannot afford these items.  There are boxes in the narthex and chapel for your donations.  Thank you for your help in making this annual project a success each year!

Special Missions – Our special mission envelopes for August and September have been designated for the education assistance funds at St. John and Holy Ghost schools.  These funds help families in our area and our congregation afford Christian education as an option for their children.  We have several families that are connected to these schools.  We also have two members on the faculty, with Jane Schulz at St. John and Marla Crawford at Holy Ghost.  Both of these schools provide quality education and are consistently given high rankings by Business First.

School of Witnessing – First Trinity on Niagara Falls Blvd. is offering a one-day workshop, Saturday, September 15, 9a.m. – 2 p.m. entitled “Christ Alone” in a Coexist World. This workshop will examine religious views in America and the paths for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided. There is a $10 suggested donation. To register contact Carla Stone 773-7881 or

Lost and Found – Will be at Holy Ghost for and outdoor concert on Sunday, September 23 beginning at 3:00 pm. Concessions will be available, bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the show. All proceeds from this event will benefit Holy Ghost youth’s attendance at the National Youth Gathering in San Antonio, TX in 2013.
