Announcements for the week of September 23, 2012

New Bible Class – “Favorite and Little Known Bible Stories” will be discussed in a Bible Study on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm led by Reverend Brese. Meet at church starting on October 2.

Bridging the Gap – A new Young Adult (20s, 30s…) group every Sunday morning beginning Oct. 7 from 9-10:10am. Come be blessed by God’s Word and learn more about God within our families and lives. Plan on having discussions on just about everything. For more information, contact Justin Smith, Sherry Reed or Virginia Markel.

Special Missions – Our special mission envelopes for August and September have been designated for the education assistance funds at St. John and Holy Ghost schools.  These funds help families in our area and our congregation afford Christian education as an option for their children.  We have several families that are connected to these schools.  We also have two members on the faculty, with Jane Schulz at St. John and Marla Crawford at Holy Ghost.  Both of

these schools provide quality education and are consistently given high rankings by Business First

Lost and Found – Will be at Holy Ghost for an outdoor concert this afternoon beginning at 3:00 pm. Concessions will be available, bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the show. All proceeds from this event will benefit Holy Ghost youth’s attendance at the National Youth Gathering in San Antonio, TX in 2013.

Flu Shots – Grace is hosting a Flu Shot Clinic on Sunday, October 7 immediately following the worship service. Most insurance plans will cover the cost. Stay after and get one!

Niagara County Diabetes Education Program – will present its next program on Tuesday, Oct. 4th, at 7:00pm  at Grace.  The evening’s  program, entitled “Million Hearts” is a national initiative that was launched by the department of Health and Human Services in 2011 to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over five years which can be possible complications of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Diana Monaco, RD, a Public Affairs specialist with the Food and Drug Administration is the presenter. The meeting is open to the public.  Coffee will be served.
