Announcements for the week of December 9, 2012

Congregational Voters Meeting – Next Sunday, Dec. 16 after church we will discuss and vote on the budget which was included in the newsletter. This is an important meeting, please plan on attending.

Tuesday Evening Bible Study- Tuesday evening’s Bible study on the Book of John will resume after the holidays, January 8 at 7 p.m.

Advent Devotionals – are available in the chapel. Feel free to pick up a copy.

Advent Giving Trees – have been set up at both entrances to the church.  This annual Social Ministries project helps us support several agencies in Niagara Falls, including the Magdalene Project (working with homeless women and at risk children), Summit Life Outreach (for teens in crisis pregnancies), Community Mission, and Heart & Soul Food Pantry.  If you can support this project, please take a paper ornament from the tree, purchase the suggested item, and return it to the tree table at either entrance to the church.  All donations will be delivered after Christmas to help during the cold winter months ahead. Hats, mittens, and gloves of all sizes are needed to help the homeless and poor in our community stay warm over the coming winter months.  Please remember your neighbors in need as you are doing your Christmas shopping. Thank you for your generosity!

Lift Chair – an electric lift chair in brand new condition has been donated to Grace to be used by anyone who can benefit from this type of chair.  It is a comfortable recliner that helps the user get on to their feet by slowly and gently lifting them when they press the button.  If you want to try it out, it’s in the chapel.  Let the office know if you are aware of someone who can use it.

Special Mission – our special mission envelopes thru December have been designated for the Samaritan Counseling Center, our 13 faith-based centers in WNY. SCC provides counseling, consultation and education in a spiritual environment for children, adolescents, individuals couples, families and clergy. Fees are on a sliding scale to provide services at little or no cost because of church donations. Brochures can be found on the glass case in chapel.

Little Glimmers of Light – is an easy to read and inspirational book recently published by Rev. Elton Rengsdorf. It contains stories to entertain, inform and enlighten your path. Each book is $14.95 and when you buy a copy, you also make a gift to the LWML. Copies are available from Ursula Zimmerman or Erika Tuscher.
