Easter Flowers – today is the last Sunday to purchase flowers for the altar this Easter. Order forms can be found on the glass case in the chapel.
Sunday School Offerings – Our Sunday School offerings will be “officially” included with our congregational offerings. Instead of just dropping it off in the office, a Sunday School student will join the ushers as they take the offerings to the altar. We hope this makes the weekly Sunday School offering more meaningful to the students, families and congregation.
Penny War – Next Sunday is the last Sunday to bring in donations for our Sunday School Penny War against malaria, with winners announced on Easter. Donations can be put in the jar next to the netting display in the chapel, given to a Sunday School student, or placed in your special mission envelopes for the month of March. Thank you for your generous support of our Loose Change Sunday last week. Our students collected donations totaling $239.54 from the pews after church to add to their class
banks! Thank you for your generosity!
April Gleanings -The deadline for the April Newsletter is this Tuesday, March 19. If you have any information you would like included, please see Bev Mills.
Special Mission – Our special mission envelopes for March are designated for the Lutheran Malaria Initiative, and will be used to purchase bed netting to protect children against the deadly disease of malaria. If you wish to support this mission, please place your donation in the Special Mission Envelope found in your envelope box. Your donations will be added to our Penny War total at the end of the month.
Easter Breakfast – We are in need of donations of baked goods (i.e. coffee cake, doughnuts, brownies etc.) for the Easter Breakfast. Please bring donations downstairs before or after the 7:00 am Sunrise Service.
Historical Society – Randy Warblow will address the Historical Society of North German Settlements at its first evening meeting of the season, Thur. Mar. 21 at 7pm at the Wheatfield Community Center. His topic will be “German Customs at Eastertime.” He will claim, among other things, that the Easter rabbit is German. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome.
