May Fest 2014 – there is a planning meeting after worship today. If you are unable to attend, but want
to help, please see Les or Ursula Zimmerman.
Singing Saints Concert – is coming up next month and we still need housing for 10 more students. There is a sign up sheet on the glass case.
Toilet Tissue Collection-A table has been set up in the chapel to accept donations of toilet tissue during February and March for Heart, Love, & Soul. Beside food, this is their “most-asked-for” item. It is something that is needed everyday, and something most of us take for granted. If you are able to help, please remember to buy an extra roll when grocery shopping during the next couple of months. Your donations will be greatly appreciated!
February Special Mission Envelopes – have been designated for the Lutheran Church (LCMS) Disaster Fund. LCMS responded to several major disasters during 2013, and are still in places like Colorado and the Philippines helping our brothers and sisters in Christ as they try to put their lives back in order. Costs to LCMS from the 2013 disasters is expected to top out at over $3.4 million. If you wish to help, please place your mission envelope in the offering plate during February.
Annual Penny War – will begin on March 9 and continue throughout Lent. We will be participating in an exciting project to provide clean water to children in a third world country. More details will follow. Time to start saving that pocket change!
Vacation Bible School – It’s time to mark your calendars for this year’s Vacation Bible School, scheduled for July 28 – August 1. We are already working on getting our staff lined up. If you would like to volunteer this year, please let Amy Folmsbee know soon.
Yellow Dot Safety Program–Forms have been received from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department and are available on the book nook. Pick up one for you and everyone who regularly rides in your car. Fill out the basic information asked for and keep the forms in your glove compartment. Place the “YELLOW DOT” sticker on the back (passenger) window of the driver’s side, where it will alert first responders that there is helpful information available for them in your glove compartment. It will mean a big head start on taking proper care of you and notifying family members in the event of a car crash. Help our first responders help you!
Niagara Hospice Spring Bouquet Sale – We are again participating in the Niagara Hospice Spring Bouquet Sale. The bouquets are $8.00 each. Your order and money may be given to Jane or Ron Schulz any Sunday in February. The presale order deadline is Feb. 26 with delivery the week of March 3. The bouquets will be placed on our altar Sunday, March 9, and you may take yours home after the worship, or call the church office for a pick up time.
