Announcements for 11/18/18

THRIVENT WILL MATCH YOUR DONATIONS for LCMS Disaster Response, our designated charity for your November special mission envelopes.  Our disaster response teams have had a busy year responding to the needs of the many families displaced by multiple natural disasters.  If you wish to support our Lutheran church’s response to the thousands affected by these disasters, please place your special mission envelope in the offering plate during the month of November.  Your donations will be matched dollar for dollar when we submit them through Thrivent at the end of the month.

OUR THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICE scheduled for this Wednesday, November 21st, will be the last opportunity to donate to our HARVEST FOOD COLLECTION:  We are accepting donations of non-perishable food items.  Your gifts will be distributed to Niagara Falls families by St. Vincent de Paul food pantry during the Christmas season.

HAMS & FROZEN TURKEYS are needed by Community Mission to help provide holiday meals.  Donations will be accepted through December 9th and can be stored in our downstairs kitchen.  If you need help carrying your donation, please ask an usher for assistance.

SUNDAY SCHOOL PARENTS:  Please make every effort to have your children in Sunday School each week.  We have begun learning our music for the Christmas program on December 16th and will soon be fitting costumes and learning reading parts.  Also, please mark your calendars for Saturday, December 15th when we will hold our Christmas pageant rehearsal from 10 AM – 12 PM, including a pizza lunch.  Your support is appreciated!

2019 POCKET CALENDARS with an inspirational verse are available on the glass case and in the narthex.  Help yourself.

THANKS TO YOUR GENEROUS support of Lutheran school education, we will be able to send checks in the amount of $1000 to both St. John and Holy Ghost Lutheran Schools to support the work they are doing.  Praise be to God!

NEXT SUNDAY you will find our ADVENT GIVING TREES set up in the narthex and chapel.  We will be supporting several local agencies through this project.  If you wish to participate, please take a tag off the trees, purchase the item requested, and return it unwrapped to the tree tables.  All items will be distributed in January to our neighbors in need.

Liz Smith would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the members of Grace for the many prayers, cards and food donations.

Please consider returning  your ESTIMATE OF GIVING FORM for 2019 by Sunday, November 25th.  Extra forms are available in the office.
