Announcements for 1/6/19

THANK YOU for your generous donations to our December special mission, Niagara Falls Meals on Wheels.  With matching funds from the Social Ministries budget line, we were able to send a check for $824 to this small, local organization that provides meals to the elderly and disabled in our city that do not otherwise qualify for government assisted meal delivery programs.  This will be a huge help to them as they begin their work in the new year.

OUR THANKS to Brittany Hoffman for volunteering to share her God-given musical talents with us while she has been on break from SUNY Fredonia, where she is pursuing her degree in Music Therapy.  Her solo this morning reminds us that “When there’s no peace on earth, there is peace in Christ.”

JANUARY SPECIAL MISSION ENVELOPES are designated to support Young Life, an international organization with local chapters.  Young Life is staffed by caring adults who introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in their faith through a variety of social activities, camping experiences, mission trips, and school clubs.  Your donations will help us support Young Life’s annual fundraising dinner at Classics V on March 28 at 6 PM.  If you would like to support the local work of Young Life, please place your special mission envelope in the offering plate before the end of January.

SOCIAL MINISTRIES MEETING:  Next Sunday there will be a Social Ministries meeting after worship.  A light lunch is provided.  New members are welcome–no need to reserve a spot.  Just meet in the Ladies Lounge after worship.

TAKING INVENTORY helps clarify estate and financial decisions that should be made. Cataloging assets according to their titles helps informed advisors relate relevant succession implications. Charitable planners can give an inspirational viewpoint.    For more information, contact Robert Wirth, LCMS Foundation Gift Planner @ robert.wirth (at) lfnd (dot) org or 716-863-4427.
