The CHURCH OFFICE will be closed today but will reopen on Wednesday, November 6th from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
HARVEST FOOD COLLECTION: We have tables available in the chapel and narthex to receive donations of non-perishable food items for our fall mission project, which will continue until Thanksgiving. Donations will be distributed locally by St. Vincent de Paul food pantry on Military Road to provide meals for families in need over the upcoming holiday season. All gifts are appreciated, but especially needed are peanut butter, jelly, tuna, cereal, pasta, spaghetti sauce, applesauce, and canned fruit. Thank you for your generosity toward this project.
HAMS & FROZEN TURKEYS: We are accepting hams and turkeys, which can be stored in our downstairs freezer. They will be used by Community Mission and the Lord’s Day Dinners for the poor and homeless in Niagara Falls.
NOVEMBER SPECIAL MISSION ENVELOPES are designated for “Help and Hope for Homeless, Inc.” Help and Hope is a local charity working with homeless, or near-homeless, individuals and families that have a true desire to improve their situation, connecting them with the help they need to become productive and self-sufficient. We encourage you to speak with the following members of Grace: John Loss (founder and board President), Sue Loss (board secretary), or Robin Stephenson (board member) about Help and Hope’s efforts to assist the homeless in our community. If you wish to support this organization, please place your special mission envelope in the offering plate before the end of November. (If you have signed up for the new e-giving option, you can donate to special missions online.)
SOCIAL MINISTRIES REMINDER: Our last committee meeting of this calendar year will be held next Sunday after worship. As usual, a light lunch will be available and new members are welcome.
Our YOUTH FOR TRUTH students (Grades 6th – 12th) are returning today from a Jr./Sr. High Fall Retreat held at Pioneer Camp & Retreat Center. The retreat was an opportunity for youth to come together for a weekend of meaningful worship, relationships that blossom and grow, service projects, and fun games.
The ALTAR FLOWERS, week by week, are a welcome offering to our worship. Flowers are alive. They are of God’s creation. They are a fragrant offering to the God who created them. They are a symbol of new life in Christ. For all of these reasons, we give thanks to everyone who is moved to give flowers on a particular Sunday. People have given flowers in thanksgiving to God for a family member’s birthday, wedding anniversary, or other blessing. They are also given in memory of a departed loved one or friend. A flower chart is located in the narthex where available Sunday dates are listed. The church office will then contact you to obtain your preference in color(s), size (centerpiece/$43 or two (2) vases/$54) and your personalized bulletin announcement.
