Announcements for 12/29/19

It’s time for us to update GRACE’S CHURCH DIRECTORY. We will be photographing all families February 11th thru the 13th from 2PM – 9PM right here at Grace. Our directory won’t be complete without you. Reserve your spot by stopping by the sign-up table after worship next Sunday, January 5th or see the link on Grace’s website to sign-up today!

IT’S NOT TOO LATE:  Our ADVENT GIVING TREES are located in the chapel and narthex.  This year we are supporting several Niagara Falls agencies, including Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission, Heart, Love, & Soul, Summit Life Outreach Center, and the Magdalene Project.  If you would like to participate, please take as many tags from the trees as you would like, purchase the item(s) requested, and return it unwrapped to the tree tables by next Sunday, January 5.  Thank you for your generosity toward our neighbors in need.

GIFT CARDS:  The agencies that we are supporting with our Advent Giving Tree are always appreciative of Target or Walmart gift cards which they can use to purchase various needed items.  For those who might prefer this option, please note we have placed a box for gift card donations under each tree.  The boxes will be checked frequently and gift cards will be stored in a secure location.

HATS & MITTENS:  In addition to the items listed on our Giving Tree tags, hats, gloves, and mittens are always needed and welcomed as we head into the cold winter months ahead.  Many children and homeless adults from our inner city areas lack these items to help keep them warm.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO DONATE to our December special mission, designated for Samaritan Counseling, a local Christian counseling agency working with all ages and all types of needs.  Your donations will help Samaritan provide free or reduced fee counseling to those who cannot afford to pay the full fee.  If you have questions about Samaritan, please feel free to speak with Pastor Brese who worked for many years as a counselor with them, or Trish Andrews who frequently refers clients to Samaritan through her work as a nurse practitioner.  Both would be glad to tell you more about their experiences with Samaritan and the great work they do.  If you wish to support Samaritan, please place your special mission envelope or a convenience envelope located in the pews (clearly marked “special mission”) in the offering plate today.  If you have signed up for the new e-giving option, you can donate to special missions online.

CHOIR REMINDER:  Our next choir practice will be held on February 19.  Thank you for your dedication to singing all of the special music during Advent and Christmas, and enjoy your time off!  If anyone would like to sing a solo or small group song in January or February, please speak to Maye or Ross.

THANK YOU to all who donated to our Christmas family this year.  Your generous gifts were greatly appreciated by the family and will be helpful as they continue to deal with their current challenges.
