THANK YOU to all who contributed to our “Stock the Shoppe” project to support Summit Life Resources. If you still have a baby bottle bank, please return it to Alice Moll or the office as soon as possible.
SPECIAL MISSION ENVELOPES for September & October are supporting Lutheran education at St. John & Holy Ghost schools. Last year, due to your generous donations, we were able to support each school with a check for $1100. The option of quality education in a Christian environment is important for families in today’s world. If you wish to participate, please use your special mission envelope before the end of October or donate online under “special missions”.
LAST WEEK’S FLU SHOT CLINIC resulted in the immunization of 14 members, which ties our highest number from previous years. If you were unable to attend, flu shots are available at your doctor’s office or pharmacy and are covered by most insurances.
NEXT SUNDAY our annual food drive will begin for St. Vincent de Paul food pantry located on Military Road. They are currently serving 50 local families. Since they have shared that they are having difficulty purchasing food in bulk amounts (due to the pandemic), we will attempt to fill “Cases for a Cause”. We will have containers available for their most needed food items, including tuna and canned meats, pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit, macaroni & cheese, cereal, and chunky style soups. Of course, any non-perishable food item will be appreciated. Please be sure that your donations do not expire before the end of 2020.
TURKEY & HAM donations are needed to help our soup kitchens feed our neighbors in need over the holidays. Donations can be stored in our downstairs kitchen freezer. If you need help carrying your donation, an usher will be glad to assist you.
