Announcements for Sunday, 11/8

NOVEMBER SPECIAL MISSION ENVELOPES will support LCMS Disaster Response.  Lutheran Emergency Response Teams (LERT) continue to aid the victims of the many disasters our country has experienced during 2020, including massive wildfires, unprecedented numbers of hurricanes, flooding, and tornadoes.  The rebuilding process will take years.  Please consider if you are able to help by using your November Special Mission Envelope before the end of the month.  You can also donate online by clicking “Special Missions”.

CASES FOR A CAUSE:  Tables will continue to be availablein the narthex and chapel through 11/22 forour annual Harvest Food Collection to help St. Vincent de Paul food pantry on Military Road.  They are currently serving 50 local families.  They have shared that they are having difficulty purchasing food in bulk amounts due to the pandemic, so we will attempt to fill “Cases for a Cause”.  We have containers available for their most needed food items, which include tuna and canned meats, pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and vegetables, macaroni & cheese, cereal, and chunky style soups.  Of course, any non-perishable food donation will be appreciated.  We will deliver your donations on Thanksgiving weekend to help St. Vincent restock for Christmas, so please be sure that your donations do not expire before the end of 2020.

TURKEY & HAM donations are needed to help our local soup kitchens provide holiday meals for our neighbors in need.  Donations can be stored in our downstairs kitchen freezer.  If you need help carrying your donation, an usher will be glad to assist you.

IF YOU ARE LIVE-STREAMING and you would like to donate to “Cases for a Cause” or our turkey and ham collection, you can arrange a drop off time by calling Erin in the office.  We are also accepting gift card donations from grocery stores, Walmart, & Target.

THANK YOU to all who participated in or donated to Trunk or Treat.  We had about 60 children and their families visit us on Halloween.  In addition to candy, we gave out Christian themed gifts and several free Bibles.  Despite the need for distancing and masks, a great deal of fun was had by all on a cold but sunny day.

OUR OLDEST MEMBER at Grace, Crystal Michel, will turn 100 years old on 11/28.  There are cards available to sign for her on the glass case.  If you would like to send your own greeting, cards can be dropped off in the office and we will make sure they are sent to Crystal.
