Announcements for Sunday, November 7th

CONFIRMATION CLASSES will be Wednesdays starting January 5, 5:00-6:30 PM. All youth 6th grade and up who have not completed Confirmation instruction are encouraged to attend. Students may bring dinner. Please contact Erin ( by December 15 to register, including returning students.

SOCIAL MINISTRIES MEETING:  Our last meeting for the year will be held in the chapel next Sunday after worship.  Lunch will be shared during the meeting.  New members are always welcome!  Please see Amy Folmsbee if you have questions.

CHOIR:  There is NO rehearsal this week.  Our next rehearsal is scheduled for Wednesday, November 17 at 7 PM.  New members are welcome.  It’s not too late to join us!  Please talk to Ross Folmsbee or Maye Smith if you have any questions.

TWO SUNDAYS REMAIN to donate to our HARVEST FOOD COLLECTION.  Tables are available in the chapel and narthex to receive donations of non-perishable food items.  All donations are appreciated with a particular need for canned vegetables (especially corn), canned soups, tuna, and Ramen noodles.  Your gifts will be delivered to the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry on Military Road during Thanksgiving weekend to help them restock for the Christmas season.  Thank you for your generosity.

NOVEMBER MISSION ENVELOPE donations are designated for GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Houma, Louisiana.  Their minister, Pastor Rudnik, was a seminary classmate of Pastor Bahr.  Grace suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Ida.  Your donations during November will be sent directly to Grace to help with construction costs as they rebuild their church.

TURKEYS AND HAMS:  We will continue to accept donations of turkeys and hams until mid-December.  They are needed by local soup kitchens for the upcoming holiday dinners they will provide.  Donations can be stored in the downstairs kitchen freezer.  Please ask an usher for assistance to carry your donation if needed.

THANK YOU to all who volunteered and donated to this year’s Trunk or Treat.  We had approximately 90 children in attendance along with their families.  They enjoyed trick or treating, free gifts, games, prizes, and snacks as well as a visit from the NFFD with a fire truck.  Fun was had by all with ages ranging from 3 months to 95 years!  Your help made it a big success once again!  Check out the pictures on our Grace Facebook page.

BEYOND THE SURFACE: Christian education Wednesday, November 3rd at 10:00am. We will be looking at the following verses: Daniel 12: 1-3, Hebrews 10: 11-25, and Mark 13: 1-13.
