TODAY AND TOMORROW ARE THE LAST DAYS to donate to help our sister congregation, St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Beecher, Illinois. St. Paul suffered a devastating fire that destroyed their church back in September. All donations received will go directly to St. Paul to support their construction efforts as they rebuild.
RECYCLING CHANGES: Recent recycling restrictions have resulted in changes to what we can accept in our donation center. We are currently able to accept ONLY eyeglasses, hearing aids, sample-sized toiletries, and 5 x 7 picture frames. There are boxes for donations of these items located in the coat room near the parking lot entrance.
NEXT SUNDAY we will begin accepting donations of toilet tissue for Heart, Love, & Soul. This is one of our most-appreciated projects, since this is an item that is required daily, cannot be purchased with government assistance cards, and is seldom donated to social service agencies for distribution. If you would like to support our Social Ministries’ project, please drop off your donations during the month of February. Thank you for your support.
DOOR OFFERING: Today we are offering the opportunity to support a brother in Christ through a door offering after worship. Jason McNair, is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. His son, Sammy, has been a helper at our VBS. Jason has been hospitalized since before Thanksgiving with serious medical complications caused by Covid. He just recently became able to breathe without the help of a ventilator, and has fought through several complications including kidney failure, secondary infections, and the need for several surgeries. It is anticipated he will require months of rehab after he’s finally able to leave the hospital. Your donations will go to St. Paul’s fundraising efforts to help his family with the enormous medical bills they are facing.
