Announcements for Sunday, May 21st

TODAY ONLY! Back by popular demand! Treichler gift cards for $25. We sold 76 cards and made a profit of $480 (including some donations). Since some missed it – today is your day. See Alice Moll or Jane Schulz at the glass bookcase in the chapel.

A SIGN-UP SHEET is located on the glass case for our congregational picnic to be held on June 11, the last day of Sunday School for this school year.  Our Sunday School students will be participating in various ways in worship that day.  ALL congregation members and friends are invited to stay for lunch after worship.  Hamburgs, hotdogs, and drinks will be provided.  If you are able, please sign up to bring a side dish, salad, or dessert to share.

CHOIR will have an optional practice after worship today for any members that would like to run through “Gathered in the Love of Christ”.

STOCK THE SHOPPE:  Continuing until Father’s Day (June 18), we will be accepting donations of new baby care items, such as clothing, infant toiletries, and diapers (sizes 1 – 3) to help stock the Parenting Shoppe at Summit Life Outreach Center.  Summit is a Christian organization located on Pine Avenue that is devoted to helping young women in unplanned pregnancy situations.  Their “earn while you learn” program allows their clients to “shop” for needed baby items with credits received for attendance at prenatal and parenting education classes as well as counseling sessions.  Your gifts may be left on the tables in the chapel or narthex.

BABY BOTTLE BANKS to support Summit Life Outreach Center are available in the narthex and chapel.  If you would like to support Summit in this way, take a bottle home with you and fill it with your spare change.  Bottles should be returned to the table, the church office, or to Alice Moll on or before Father’s Day.

DONATIONS to our May mission are designated to support the LORD’S DAY DINNER OF NIAGARA FALLS.  Beginning 30 years ago, a Niagara Falls resident, Yvonne Davis, and her husband Matt began serving free take-out dinners through the side door of their home to anyone in need.  Their mission now includes free holiday dinners held at the VFW on Seneca Avenue.  They also provide miscellaneous items through the year as they are able, such as hygiene products and clothing.  This past Easter, they included Easter baskets for the children as well as a free meal.  Your donations will help Yvonne and Matt provide what they need to serve our neighbors.  If you would like to support the Lord’s Day Dinner and the good being done throughout the year, please use your mission envelope or donate online under “monthly mission” during May.

THANK YOU for your generosity toward Pioneer on the Lake.  Our April mission resulted in a check for $700 to support our camp’s summer programming and activities.
