Announcements for Sunday, June 4th

ATTENDANCE SHEETS found in the bulletin will assist us in making sure that all of our members are being cared for as needed during our vacancy.  Please fill them out EACH WEEK and place them in the offering plate.

PICNIC NEXT SUNDAY:  A sign up sheet is located on the glass case for our congregational picnic to be held next Sunday after worship.  ALL congregation members and friends are invited to stay for lunch after worship.  Hamburgs, hotdogs, and drinks will be provided.  If you are able, please sign up to bring a side dish, salad, or dessert to share.

HELP NEEDED:  Immediately after next week’s Bible Class, we will need help to arrange the tables in the chapel for our picnic.  Your help for a few minutes before worship will be appreciated.

SUMMER COFFEE HOUR after worship is coming back beginning on June 18.  The Elders will be providing baked goods for the two Sundays in June.  They are looking for volunteers to bake during July and August.  If you are able to help, please sign up for a week (or two) that is convenient for you.  A sign up sheet is located on the glass case.

CHOIR will practice in the balcony today after worship.  We will be singing next Sunday.  This is our last scheduled practice until fall.

ALL are invited to the GRACE LADIES FIELD TRIP on Tuesday, June 20th, for an historical tour of Forest Lawn Cemetery. Meet at the church at 10AM to carpool. $15.00/person – pay now or later. Sign-up sheet is on the glass bookcase in the chapel. See summer Gleanings for complete information. Let’s fill the trolley – it holds 36 people.

STOCK THE SHOPPE:  Continuing until Father’s Day (June 18), we will be accepting donations of new baby care items, such as clothing, infant toiletries, and diapers (sizes 1 – 3) to help stock the Parenting Shoppe at Summit Life Outreach Center.  Summit is a Christian organization located on Pine Avenue that is devoted to helping young women in unplanned pregnancy situations.  Their “earn while you learn” program allows their clients to “shop” for needed baby items with credits received for attendance at prenatal and parenting education classes as well as counseling sessions.  Your gifts may be left on the tables in the chapel or narthex.

BABY BOTTLE BANKS to support Summit Life Outreach Center are available in the narthex and chapel.  If you would like to support Summit in this way, take a bottle home with you and fill it with your spare change.  Bottles should be returned to the table, the church office, or to Alice Moll on or before Father’s Day.

JUNE MISSION ENVELOPES are designated to support Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) K-9 Comfort Dogs.  LCC currently has 130 specially trained Golden Retrievers that are located throughout the country.  They respond to natural and man-made disasters (including mass shootings) to offer comfort to victims and first responders and open doors for conversations about God’s love.  Most often, they have “paws on the ground” within 24 hours of being invited.  LCC guarantees that 100% of your donation will go toward the training, care, and travel expenses of these K-9’s.  To support LCC K-9’s, place your mission envelope in the offering plate during June or donate online under “monthly mission”.
