Announcements for Sunday, October 1st

ATTENDANCE SHEETS found in the bulletin will assist us in making sure that all of our members are being cared for as needed during our vacancy.  Please fill them out EACH WEEK and place them in the offering plate.

MISSION ENVELOPES this month support our Lutheran Schools, St. John in North Tonawanda and Holy Ghost in Bergholz. In a world ever leading out children to its own sense of truth, let’s support the schools that still hold fast to THE TRUTH – Jesus.

CONGREGATION MEETING on Pastor search scheduled for Sunday October 8th immediately following services.

“CHANGE” THE BOILER FUNDRAISER: Starting today and continuing through November, we will be offering another opportunity to participate in a fundraiser for our new boiler.  There are boxes located in the narthex and chapel next to our fundraising thermometer signs where you can deposit your spare change.  You’ll be amazed how it adds up.  Our past Penny Wars resulted in well over $1000 in change most years.  If you wish to participate, please add your pocket or purse change to the boxes.

PANERA FUNDRAISER: On Thursday, October 19, we will be holding a fundraiser with Panera on Military Road.  Panera will donate 40% of their profit to Grace for all purchases made using our flyer between the hours of 4 & 8 pm.  You can also use the code FUND4U if ordering online.  This is a special offer from Panera.  They normally donate only 20% of their profit for fundraisers, so let’s show our support!  Flyers are available on the glass case and can be passed out to your family, friends, and co-workers.  Panera asks that we NOT hand out flyers on their property, so let’s be sure to honor their request.

NEXT WEEK: Our annual Harvest Food Donation project will begin next Sunday and run through November 19.  There will be tables available in the narthex and chapel to accept donations of non-perishable foods.  Your gifts will support our partners, St. Vincent de Paul, as they prepare to serve our neighbors in need during the holidays.  This year we will also accept donations of MACARONI & CHEESE, which will be delivered to Potter’s Field to assist them as they provide meals to the group of under-supervised and neglected children that they mentor.

TRUNK OR TREAT SIGN UP: A sign up sheet is located on the glass case for participating in or donating to this year’s Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 28.  Our Trunk or Treat event will be held in the parking lot from 3 – 4:30 pm.  This is our largest outreach event, with over 100 children and their families attending each year.  Participation simply involves handing out treats from the trunk of your car.  Costumes and decorations add to the fun, but are not mandatory.  If you would like to support the event but cannot participate, donations of candy or other goodies are appreciated.

THANK YOU: We received a note from Wings Flights of Hope, our July mission, thanking us for our $600 donation.  They advised us that this donation provided two flights for patients heading to specialty medical facilities for treatment.  Thank you for your generosity that is making a difference in our community.
