Announcements for Sunday, January 21st

SOCIAL MINISTRIES will meet after worship today (rescheduled from last Sunday).  New members are welcome to join us.

HOSPICE SPRING BOUQUET SALE:  A signup sheet for pre-ordering bouquets is available on the glass case.  Each bouquet costs $10 (please pay Jane Schulz).  Bouquets will be placed on the altar on March 17 and can be taken home after worship on that day.  Proceeds benefit Niagara Hospice.  Deadline for signing up is February 11.

LENT SIMPLE SUPPERS:  There is a signup sheet on the glass case for those interested in helping with food for our Simple Suppers during Lent.  The first supper will be held on February 21.  If you can assist with a main dish, side dish, dessert, or drinks, please sign up on your preferred date (or dates).

JANUARY MISSION ENVELOPES are designated to support Food for the Poor in memory of our former minister, Rev. Daniel Otto, who was a long-time volunteer for this Christian ministry to those living in extreme poverty.  In 2023, FFTP served over 176 million meals, built 1251 homes, delivered almost 2000 trailers of aid to disaster areas, and worked to provide medical care and clean water to numerous communities.  If you would like to donate, please place your mission envelope in the offering plate during January, or donate online by choosing the “monthly mission” option.

CHRISTMAS CARDS:  We are in need of old (or new) Christmas cards to make Christmas booklets for next year.  There is a bag on the glass case for your donations.

Note of Appreciation – The five members of the Board of Directors for Help and Hope for Homeless. Inc. would like to thank Grace Lutheran church and its members for your generous donation of $1016.66 for the December special missions.  This will be put to good use with our goal of helping an individual man or woman to be able to leave their homeless lifestyle behind them.  We plan to do this for them by paying their entire tuition at Orleans-Niagara BOCES for vocational training in a career of their choice.  Do you know of anyone who might be a candidate for this option?  Any questions speak to Robin Stephenson, Sue Loss, or John Loss.
