CAN YOU HELP? Our Advent services begin this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. We would like to offer a SIMPLE SUPPER at 5:30 p.m. prior to the services, but it is dependent on volunteers to help provide a meal. If you can assist, please sign up on the schedule which is found on the glass case.
NEXT SUNDAY: We will be decorating our sanctuary after worship next Sunday. Please plan to stay if you are able. It doesn’t take long if we have enough help.
CHOIR: We will practice after worship today.
TODAY we begin accepting donations for our Advent Giving Trees. Agencies we will be assisting this year include Heart, Love, & Soul, Potter’s Field, Salvation Army, and Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission. If you wish to participate, you can take a tag from the tree, purchase the item listed, and return it unwrapped to the table.
DECEMBER MISSION ENVELOPES will support HELP & HOPE FOR THE HOMELESS, INC., a local charity founded by Grace member John Loss. This charity is focused on helping a homeless or struggling individual or family through job training and associated skills. If you would like to support their work as they make a difference with their work, please donate during the month of December. John will be happy to answer any questions you may have about his charity and their purpose.
THANK YOU to all who donated turkeys so far. We were able to deliver 24 turkeys to agencies that provided Thanksgiving dinners to those in need in our city. Our partner agencies included the Salvation Army, Community Mission, Lighthouse Women’s & Children’s and the Lord’s Day Dinner. WE WILL CONTINUE to accept donations of hams and frozen turkeys through December 15. They will help provide Christmas meals for our neighbors who cannot afford to feed their families. They are being stored in our downstairs kitchen freezer. If you need help carrying, please ask an usher for assistance.
GRACE LADIES CHRISTMAS PARTY: All Ladies (family & friends) are invited to join us on Tuesday, Dec. 10th at 6PM. IT will be catered by Dudley Catering Company and costs $20 per person. See sign-up sheet on glass bookcase for more information and to sign up. Also check your December Gleanings.
GRACE LADIES Christmas Poinsettia sale is currently going on until Sunday, December 8th. Order forms are at both sanctuary entrances, please turn in your order to the church office no later than the 8th. The cost is $11 a piece.
Mid-Week Advent 1: December 4th @ 6:30PM – WONDERFUL COUNSELOR.
Our first midweek Advent sermon is “Wonderful Counselor”—a title given to Jesus in Isaiah 9:6. We will learn how God rescues us from the cunning counsel of the devil and blesses us with the wonderful counsel of His Son whose Word of truth sets us free from sin and its damning deception (see John 8:31).
