JANUARY MISSION ENVELOPES will support LIGHTHOUSE WOMEN & CHILDREN’S CENTER (formerly the Magdalene Project) in Niagara Falls. Lighthouse reaches out to exploited women in Niagara Falls with the good news of Jesus’ love for them. They offer support for those who are working to better their life situation. Lighthouse also works with under supervised children in our inner city, offering them after school activities and snacks in a safe environment. If you would like to support Lighthouse, place your donation in your monthly mission envelope or donate online using the “monthly mission” option.
CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES AID: After worship today, we will offer the opportunity to contribute to a door offering to aid the victims of the wildfires in California. Your donations will be sent to our LCMS Pacific Southwest District. At least 37 families from our LCMS churches in the affected area have lost their homes. The LCMS Pacific Southwest District will use your donations to assist these families with their immediate needs.
“SOUPER” BOWL SUNDAY: We’re trying something new! On Sunday, February 9, we invite you to bring a can (or two) of meal-type chunky or hearty style soup, chili, or stew to church with you. Your donations will be donated to Heart, Love, & Soul to help feed our hungry neighbors during these cold winter months.
FEBRUARY PROJECT: Beginning next week, there will be tables set up in the narthex and chapel for our annual toilet tissue collection to benefit Heart, Love, & Soul. Toilet tissue is an item that cannot be purchased with SNAP benefit cards. It is one of the most requested and appreciated items that Heart, Love, & Soul is able to provide for their clients who need assistance. Your generosity is appreciated!
NIAGARA HOSPICE SPRING BOUQUET SALE: We will again participate in this fundraiser for Niagara Hospice who provides such important care to patients and their families. A sign-up sheet is on glass case in chapel, or see Jane Schulz. Deadline to place order is Sunday, February 16th. Each bouquet is $10 – cash or check to Niagara Hospice. Bouquets will be on our altar Sunday, March 16th. You may take yours home after worship.
