MAY MISSION ENVELOPES are designated to support Potter’s Field, located on Highland Avenue in Niagara Falls. Potter’s Field is a group of Christian adults who gather together a group of our city’s high risk children and teens several times each week. Many of these children come from homes where a parent is incarcerated, or is involved in prostitution, drugs, or other illicit activities that lead to neglect of their children. At Potter’s Field, they are taught about God’s love for them, they receive a meal with each gathering, and they are given the opportunity to play, do crafts, and enjoy Christian music in the presence of Christian role models. If you would like to help Potter’s Field change the lives of these high risk children, place your mission envelope in the offering plate during May, or donate online under the “monthly mission” option.
SOCIAL MINISTRIES will meet after worship today. New members are always welcome. We will share a light lunch during the meeting.
STOCK THE SHOPPE: We are accepting baby items to support Summit Life Center on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls. Summit is run by volunteers who provide support to young moms and dads in unplanned pregnancy situations with limited support systems. They provide pregnancy testing, peer counseling, and a variety of classes pertaining to pregnancy and parenting. Each contact for counseling or classes earns credits that can be used in their Parenting Shoppe for free items to help them prepare for their baby. Items that are needed include infant clothing, blankets, diapers, and baby toiletries. There are donation tables in the chapel and narthex if you would like to participate. We are accepting donations until Father’s Day (June15).
BABY BOTTLE BANKS: We have baby bottle banks on our donation tables if you would like to support Summit Life Center in this way. Feel free to take a bottle home with you and place your change (or paper money or checks made out to Summit Life) in the bottles and return it to the office or to Alice Moll by June 15.
PICNIC: Our last day of Sunday School is scheduled for June 8. Our Sunday School students will participate in worship on that day, and there will be a picnic lunch for the congregation after worship. There will be a signup sheet on the glass case for the picnic. Hotdogs, hamburgs, and drinks will be provided. Bring a side dish or dessert to share and plan to stay. All are welcome!
