OUR TURKEY & HAM collection has resumed and our new freezer is ready for your donations. Our first delivery to local charities will be made IN TWO WEEKS, on November 23, to assist with their free Thanksgiving meals for those in need in Niagara Falls.
NOVEMBER MISSION ENVELOPES will benefit Niagara Falls Meals on Wheels. They are a non-profit group located in Niagara Falls that provides nutritious meals to our city’s residents who cannot shop for or cook their own meals. They DO NOT receive any government funding for the services they provide. Because of this, they are able to serve people who do not qualify for other programs and might otherwise slip through the cracks. If you would like to support Meals on Wheels, use your mission envelope during November or give online by choosing “monthly mission”.
TWO SUNDAYS REMAIN to donate to our HARVEST FOOD COLLECTION. Your gifts will be delivered to St. Vincent de Paul food pantry on 11/29. Requests for assistance have risen quickly as the government shut-down affects programs that assist people in need. All non-perishable foods are appreciated. Thank you for helping your neighbors.
CHRISTMAS CHILD: If you would like to “adopt” a child who attends activities at Potter’s Field in Niagara Falls and purchase Christmas gifts for them, please let Virginia Markel know before Thanksgiving. She will provide you with an individualized wish list for one of their children. You can then purchase some or all of the items on their list (and more if desired), and return the wrapped gifts to Virginia. She will see that your purchases are returned to Potter’s Field in time for their Christmas party.
GRACE LADIES next meeting is Tuesday, November 18th beginning at 6PM. It is our annual Wine N’ Cheese and Show N’ Tell event. In celebration of our country’s 250th birthday, we suggest your show n’ tell be something OLD!! Try to wear or bring old clothing, old jewelry, or an old item to share. All Grace ladies and friends are welcome.
